Fail.

Without much need support, although it went off smoothly initially, it failed midway.

I'm sorry Cyrus for all the tears you've wasted.

It could have gone the other way with more support and knowledge from others .

Cyrus is a funny boy. After 2 nights of complete sleeping,  he suddenly awoke tonight.  Probably knows that daddy is coming back. Managed to wiggle out of his swaddle and was vvv delighted to see me!  In the dark, I could see him looking intently at me,  eyes twinkling,  hands and legs waving around,  doing the starfish dance again.  :) he does the starfish dance whenever he's excited.  Despite looking so funny and adorable,  I resisted having any eye contact w him and gave him some warm water to drink instead.  Reswaddled him and gently but firmed soothed him to sleep by pressing on his moving hands and rubbing him down.  Saw him looking at me but I didn't dare to look at him.  Closed my eyes and continued rubbing until he stopped moving.  Luckily he fell silent and I went to hide in my  covers.  Heard him still yawning and fidgeting a bit before he finally fell asleep. Luckily! Think he knows that it's night time and it's time to sleep!  Thank goodness for all the training day provided when he feed milk in the dark at nights :p

Crying it out. Most effective method?  But really heart breaking!

Recap today's 1st tryout.

1st nap @ 8 plus am.
Grandma brought Cyrus to sleep.  She tried to make Cyrus sleep but he kept crying.  Actually his cries were not full blown but grandma buay tahan,  have him the pacifier.  I refused to give it to him so I picked it out. That was the ultimatum. He wailed and yelled at the top of his voice inconsolably like I was murdering him.  Eternity went by and he did not stop crying.  I popped in the pacifier and instantly regretted. After making him cry so much, I'm giving in? ! So after a few sucks, I pulled the paci out again and was expecting him to wail.  But no.  He was probably very tired from the top of the voice wailing before this and did not make any noise. He was asleep! He had a good zz for perhaps 30 to 45 minutes before he woke up crying. After some paying,  his cries did not subside so I picked him up.  Shushed him a little before putting him back into the cot,  this time tummy down.  He made a fuss but it was a weak attempt.  I decided to just sit at the side and let him fuss.  Indeed,  he did not last long and slept for a good hour or so.

2nd nap after bath.
An hour after feeding, I brought him into the room.  Drew the curtains and carried him a while before I lay him down sideways.  Of course he protested but it wasn't as ear blowing as the first time. He cried on and off for a good 10mins b4 zzing. Again,  he slept well for about 50 mins before waking.  I did the same trick.  Flipped him on his tummy and he eh eh eh slightly before zzing for an hour plus!

3rd nap
Cried 5min with the same intensity as nap #2 but didn't last that long. Slept for perhaps 1+hr only in total.

4th nap @ 5plus
Probably ko-ed the fastest but also lasted the shortest.  Just about half an hour before he woke up.

Bedtime @ 8pm
Cried quite long for about 12 mins. I thought he wasn't going to stop.  :p wonder how long he can last?

It's  8.37pm now.... should I go to zz? Am expecting major crying later.  No pacifier to save our midnight sanity!

This is not a joke. Today is April Fools Day but I'm very serous about it. Today is the day Cyrus is going to be weaned off his pacifier!

Managed to make him nap 2x without pacifier already. Now comes the difficult part of the day. The late noon naps. Hope Cyrus cooperates!
