It's a stay home Xmas... One of our quietest Xmas... Went to buy a log cake for Celeste... She was very happy... Treated it as her birthday! Lol.. Lit 3 candles and we sang a birthday song instead. Lol...
She's still looking chicken pox-y. We can't wait for the scab to drop and bring her out!

From aunt Wernie.

We allowed Celeste to open one present first due to her boredom at home. She chose this present first and it's fun! :)

After seeing a baby fox being bottle-fed on okto...
Celeste: mummy... Can you buy a baby fox for me? So I can feed it milk too?
Haha... :)

Daddy finally managed to get the medicine from mt. E and after Celeste drank the medicine. She went to sleep. Seems ok so far. No complaints and no scratching. Hope she gets some decent sleep. Her fever is creeping way too high for comfort too :(
This noon, Celeste suddenly saw her face in the mirror. First reaction was shock but she didn't express it. She continued looking, with a sad face and finally blurted out to me that she doesn't want to look like that. :( poor girl.
It'll soon be over, Celeste. Don't give up!

Revisited the GP to get stronger med but to our surprise, dr says that usually his med would suffice and he doesn't have stronger medicine at the clinic. Recommended that we go outside pharmacy to buy. Wth.
So I asked for more lotions and dr gave calamine lotion. Unfortunately, Celeste doesn't like the smell of it and after applying it once, she refuses to apply anymore despite the itch. She eld rather itch then apply the calamine lotion. Real stubborn!!!!
Anyway daddy has to go out to buy and realised that normal pharmacies don't have stock for the medicine, only available at mt. E.
:s
Troublesome...

With more chick pox appearing, causing more itchiness, Celeste has lamented: I don't like chicken pox.
She knows that she cannot go out. Her wish of going sentosa is dashed. I don't dare to tell her that her trip to Isabelle's house to make the gingerbread man is cancelled. She is so bored at home. But luckily, I search the net for games to play with her. Last but not least, with the extreme itchiness that medication doesn't even seem to help, she can hardly sleep!
Sigh. 12 more days to go!! Persevere!!!!!

Finally some rest as my little chicky pox is sleeping.
Had a full morning of fun with her. It was tiring but at least, I knew that she wasn't watching tv. Daddy's a little sick and is refusing to do anything with her. Celeste is sad but no choice, daddy keeps pushing her away.
Hai... Day 1 of chick pox. How to survive the rest of the 13 days without going out?!

Celeste is suspected to have chicken pox. She had fever last night and this morning we noticed 1-2 blisters. By night time, we discovered a few more. Doc says hers might just be a mild case . We just need to further observe her and keep her home. :(

Hahaha... Celeste came up with this story, so impromptu, while playing with Isabelle. So cute... Really in fantasy island!
Once upon a time, there was a princess. Princess Celeste! She lived in a castle, in the tallest castle ever! She lived with papa, mama, nai nai and ye ye. The end!!!

It's finally the last day of Celeste's Chinese Holiday program @ Han Language Centre (Woodlands). Relieved that it's over. Hehe.. Dragging Celeste to class this week was horrible. Despite that, I am glad that I signed her up. She is trying to speak more Mandarin now. She still didn't learn to identify words in the program like I had hoped, but at least, she is speaking Mandarin. Anyway, here's the story why I dreaded bringing her for lessons this week...

When I first chanced upon the Chinese Holiday program, it was actually Hua Language Centre that caught my eye. It's 2 week program looked interesting and I thought it would be a good idea to sign Celeste up for some lessons. Unfortunately, the dates did not suit me as I was still working and I signed Celeste up with Han Language Centre, thinking that with Han's reputation, the program offered would be better.

I was wrong. For the first lesson, although Celeste was happy to attend the lesson, I found out that the kids mainly did worksheets and had some story telling by the teacher. For 2 hours they were there, they completed a 6-7pg worksheet and did coloring. I asked Celeste in front of the teacher if she enjoyed the lesson, her innocent response was: No! Boring! I don't blame her. Who can sit down for 2 hours just to do worksheets?! Even I would feel bored.

I talked to the teacher and asked her about Celeste's progress, she told me that I just need to read more to Celeste and that Celeste is able to sit through the 2hr. Hah. That was the first lesson.

Subsequently in the week, the same old routine happened in class. Worksheets, stories by the teacher, perhaps some singing by the CD and goodbye. Celeste went into the classroom ok, not terribly excited, and came out happy to see me.

The next week came the problems. After 3 days of no lessons, Celeste went back to class unhappy. She kept asking me if we were going for Chinese lesson. Dense me did not notice that she was actually unwilling to go for lessons until I saw her red eyes when we arrived at the carpark. Her usual complaint: TIRED. But I dragged her into the  classroom and the teacher took over. Luckily, the teacher is caring and patient and could tolerate Celeste's nonsense. When I picked her up, Celeste was back to normal, extremely glad that the lesson was over. :p

The next 3 days were battling days. We bribed Celeste with food that she loved, shows that I would bring her to watch and places we would go if she behaved herself when she went for the lesson. It was a huge relief to see her enter the classroom with red eyes and not bursting into tears.

It is a lesson to be learned. Mummy should ALWAYS enquire more about the teacher and the class. It was my mistake not asking more about the program and assuming that it would be "FUN" as it stated on the brochure.

It was definitely not fun and I am not signing up with Han Language for next year. Would be trying out Berries which managed to convince me with their program that it is indeed learning through play. Very important for kids this age to learn through play. If just do worksheets, I can do it myself at home.

Tonight while driving in the car..
Daddy & mummy: xxxyyyzzzxxxyyyzz (talking a lot to each other)
Suddenly mummy told daddy something that happened to Celeste..Mentioned Celeste's name...
Celeste: what are you talking about? Why I heard my name?
Daddy & mummy continued to talk excitedly, not listening to Celeste.
Dad & mum: xxxxyyyyzzzz xxxxyyyyzzz!!! (too much to talk about.. Hee)
Celeste: QUIET!! (in a raised voice!)
Lol... Then both of us stopped talking and listened to wat Celeste had to say.
Haha,.. It can be impossible to have a proper conversation w daddy sometimes coz Celeste likes to interrupt. Sometimes when both of them speak after each other, I will always answer Celeste first coz she will complain that I never talk to her...

Celeste has a beard!!! An Oreo beard. Keke

Nowadays, it's difficult to get Celeste's approval to take photos.

Like today, I wanted her to pose in front of the carebears but she refused. Then wanted to take a photo of her during dinner time, she refused too.

But as we were shopping, she suddenly asked me to take a photo with the ABCs. Heh. Really have a mind of her own now.

Today, Celeste went out shopping with me to buy Xmas presents for Baby Zach and Josh. It's difficult not to buy something for her when you're out shopping coz she will go "Mummy! I want this!" when she sees something she likes. Mummy will choose the most appropriate item and buy it for her because Celeste really doesn't have many toys if I compare her with other kids. :p

Actually, she already has one Christmas present - which is Mell Chan's bathtub. We bought that like just a week ago at Taka? Today, she saw a few things that she liked. A toy camera (wonder why she wants that?), a cashier that she played with at Aunt Rena's house last time and... one more thing that I cannot remember. I didn't need much consideration to get the Cashier for Celeste coz it seems much more fun but I did need to persuade her quite a bit to understand why I chose the Cashier. ;)

Got the presents wrapped up and off we went to Aunt Jane's house to play with Baby Zach. :) Celeste is a big girl already. She tries to play with Baby Zach but erm.. baby Zach is not for playing yet. So she entertained herself by playing with Josh's toys. Keke.

Anyway, Actually I wanted to keep Celeste's present for Christmas day. Put it under our Xmas tree but Celeste was sooo anxious, she just had to open her present immediately. ;)

A far cry from downtown east's branch.

Will blog more from pc... Using iPhone nw

It's Celeste's last year at Little Learners. She's the oldest and therefore the biggest in the class. Nonetheless, she loves going to school because of the loving teachers. Despite the fact that the curriculum there isn't much, I'm just glad to send her there simply because she likes it there. Happy that she is finally graduating. I find that she is a bit overaged there. Haha.. :p A bit paiseh...

Anyway, this year, unlike last year, she is aware that she is going up on stage to perform again. She is able to tell us that what the class is singing and that she is the first one going up on stage etc. So not much of a surprise like last year but still, her performance was excellent. As I was busy video-ing her, I couldn't help feel a sense of pride when I saw how serious she was in performing. She really put in effort in practicing the Chinese song "Tian Liang Liang" everyday. When I taught her how to pronounce some words properly, she paid close attention and corrected her pronunciation mistakes. :D Am very happy that she takes pride in her performance too. :)

This year, Grandma told me to put on some makeup for Celeste so I applied some for Celeste. She was very very very happy and excited. She wanted to know exactly what I did and what were the things called. Blusher, eye shadow, lip gloss, lip stick. Final product - Pretty Celeste :)

Lastly, see her performance on FB! :)

Recently, Celeste has been waking up early and Daddy has never been an early bird. So I took the opportunity to bring Celeste out to exercise. She is good company and she never fails to stop talking. Hehe. But of course, to want her to walk/jog the entire distance that I want, is never easy. Today, we walked a total of 1.43km. Up the slopes and down the hills. Had to keep motivating her and she finally made it. Rewarded her with a nice glass of ice cold soya bean milk :p

Hehehe, the 3 kiddos rarely get to meet out of the house. Today, they had a great time together. While the adults feasted on 大闸蟹, they played happily together, for once sharing and playing the games in the iPad together. Tristan being the eldest often told them and bossed them around. Luckily the 2 ladies, if they agreed, followed his instructions. If they didn't agree, the 2 girls would simply indulge in their own girly game. :)

It's definitely nice to be kids!!

Daddy booked 3 tickets in advance without telling mummy about it. Hmmm... Mummy thinks its a waste of money coz Celeste can just watch the DVD at home! Nonetheless, we went to watch despite Celeste having fever :p
Luckily, she said she enjoyed it. Both daddy & mummy thought it was quite boring! :p

Hehe, little fatty bom bom ever ready for ballet lesson. :)

前晚,Celeste complained of stomachache the whole night. She didn't sleep well and no matter how much ru Yi oil I applied for her, her tummy ache didn't go away.

The next morning, she complained of still having tummy ache but it didn't seem as bad as the night one so we still sent her to sch.

When she returned home, she went to sleep immediately, probably due to extreme fatigue.

After that, she seemed ok but was developing a fever. Fortunately, the medicine was effective and her fever subsided.

Come night time, she was really listless despite temperature being relatively low. While waiting for her medicine to be ready, she fell asleep swiftly on the sofa.

And now...at 4am, her temperature hit 39deg. I suppose it's a viral fever and her temperature is going to go up and down like a roller coaster.

We have a few weekend activities we had planned earlier but it perhaps, they all need to be scraped if Celeste is still not feeling well. :(

Mummy woke up at 6am... Celeste woke up at 630am!

Decided to bring Celeste out for a walk-a-jog at the park. She did well! Managed to walk/jog 1 round before she gave up. In the past, she would only jog a few steps... ;)

Must bring her to exercise more coz she's getting fat again. Keke

Rainy rainy day... We stayed home snuggling up doing nothing much... Finally went out for dinner @ novena sq.

Daddy couldn't fly the kite up last week so he is determined to try again this week! Was really windy so our "angry duck" flew up easily to the sky
