This is Celeste last year March.

Hair still short, legs still short.

This is Celeste today. Hair so long and legs equally long.
And still as playful!

Celeste's creation again. All shoes line up please!

Fun Fun Fun! Although Celeste is sick (she's having cough and runny nose. vomitted last night again.) we took her to Kids Explorer because it really has been ages since we took her out to play. She had been sick for quite some time so we couldnt' go to the beach nor the park nor the swimming pool which she loves. We decided to go to the indoor playground then.
A sign that shows that Celeste has grown up: Celeste was the one pulling our hands/Sue's hand and telling us exactly what she wanted to play or did not want. She spent a long time at the toddler's ball area before going for the circuit playground. Up and down and up and down for 3 times before we had to drag her out because time was up. She still had not explored everything and was unhappy that we were going for dinner already. ;)
After dinner, she again reminded us that she wanted to play with balls but we had to tell her that we would come again the next time she was better. When we passed by a moving train, she wanted to sit on it too. We were at first a little apprehensive coz of the incidents at Genting. Celeste cried whenever we tried to take such rides when we were in Genting. Today she acutally requested for it? So when I asked her again if she wanted to take the ride, she was very sure. I told her she couldn't cry when she entered the ride and she told me ok.
So we took the ride and she was filled with awe! Basically she didn't really show much joy but she looked like she was just absorbing every single moving scene in. Hehe.

Celeste has no problem reading all these words! These are words she asked me to write down for her. :)

Mummy hasn't been reading a lot to Celeste. Very guilty. I try to read to her when I remember and have the energy. No daily reading but thankfully, Celeste still enjoys sitting down with me and listening to me everytime I tell her to bring a book for me to read out loud to her.

Hence, Celeste's reading skill is not so up to par to what I expect. I know of other same aged kids who can read better than her.

Anyway, I was doing a simple activity with her. Knowing that she likes Thomas and Friends, I wrote some Thomas and Friends names on the drawing paper. So there's Percy, James, Thomas. Celeste wanted me to add in Papa and Mummy into the paper. Then I got her to read the names after me for the first time. The second time, I tested her. She got it all right.

Later, I added in chinese Nai Nai and in english Teacher Maggie and her own name, Celeste.

She got everything right too!

Today I tested her again, thinking she could have forgotten evrythig at the first try. But she remembered all perfectly! Wish I have memory like her.

Tested her a few times until I think she got bored.
When grandma pointed to "Mummy" and asked her what it was, Celeste said very innocently and quickly, "FORGOT!"

hahahhaha. How smart of her to end the test because it just brought laughter to Grandma and me.

My darling Celeste is just so adorable. I wish I can hug her to sleep and to everywhere (provided she's not naughty).

Mummy received a funny sms from Daddy today.

Daddy: Celeste wake up earlier and earlier... faint
Mummy: hehe she dont like to sleep mah.
Daddy: don't like to sleep nevermind. i lie on the bed, she sit on me and pull open my eyes!
Mummy: hahaha!

So cute right? But poor Daddy always have to wake up very early to take care of Celeste even though sometimes he works through the night until 4+am then come home. Sometimes, Celeste can wake up at 6+am. On good days, it's 730am or slightly later.

Anyway, Daddy does a fantastic job of preparing her for school. He now even knows how to tie Celeste's hair. How many guys know how to do that? Celeste has been trained to switch off the fan the minute she climbs up from bed. Then, she gets to play a little with Daddy before Daddy gives her clothes to wear. Sometimes, Celeste manages to wear her clothes ALL BY HERSELF. She doesn't even need Daddy to wear her clothes for her! Daddy says that she knows how to aim and throw her sleeping clothes into the washing machine too. Wow, since when did my baby become so independent? After drinking her bottle of milk, she places it properly on the kitchen top.

Gee, Daddy says he wants to train her to make her own milk next time. LOL.

Celeste made it for the Temple Dinner @ Seletar for the first time! We had doubts bringing her there. It wasn't easy getting her to sit down for 3 hours but we took turns bringing her round the compound. She liked to watch the Chinese Opera and called it "Dong Dong Chiang". Hehe.

Food is not served yet but Celeste has already eaten her dinner. How to occupy her now! See all the bowls and plates stacked up? Celeste is having fun stacking and unstacking them.

Celeste sings to entertain herself.

Sorely unhappy with me. Haha... actually she's just pretending! She knows that I'm taking her photo so she tries to be funny with me.

Boredom sets in!

It's Celeste's 3rd trip to JB. This time, she asked us clearly where we were going and when we taught her howto say "Malaysia", she could reply "malaysia" by herself when we asked her back the question.

We bought mostly her things there. Milk powder : we're trying out Malaysia's milk powder. It's so much cheaper! Thomas Train : very noisy toy that Grandpa bought for Celeste for 13 ringgit but Celeste loves it! Musical instrument set: Grandma chose this for her because there's a guitar inside and Celeste has been wanting a guitar for I dunno what reason. Now, she has a small guitar, 2 tamborines, a castanet, a mini saxaphone and 2 recorders which she loves blowing! 2 pairs of Bubblegum shoes: We never fail to buy shoes for Celeste whenever we go to Bata in JB because it's cheaper.

Daddy also got 2 Armani Exchange tees for himself and Mummy got 2 pairs of shoes from SUMMIT. Love the shoes :p

Lunch at Bamboo Forest (Zhu Lin)

On the way to JB

Celeste entertaining herself

Breakfast! Celeste gets to eat EVERYTHING!

Cute hedgehog that's sold for just RM220! Daddy acutally wanted to buy it to keep as a pet. haha.. crazy!

We only go back to Jurong once a week but Celeste loves the company there! Look at how happy she is! :) (Something is wrong with my camera. So blurish photos!)

Mummy finds Celeste rather independent.

Celeste likes to do things by herself.

Recently, she has learned to wear her shoes herself so she wears her shoes EVERYTIME by herself now.

She is also rather potty trained already. That day, she told me that she wants to urine and I brought her to the potty. I wanted to take off her panties for her but she pushed my hand away and said, "Mummy go away. Celeste do self." So she removed her panties all by herself, sat on the potty, did her business. I thought it would end there and I would have to wipe her up and wear her panties for her. But no. She insisted that she wiped herself, threw the toilet paper into the potty and attempted to wear her panties herself. Of course, she stretched and pulled her panties up but it was a little difficult so I gave her some help. I think she's very pleased that she can do something like that now. :)

Sometimes, Grandma forgets that Celeste is not wearing any diapers and put her to sleep diaperless. We praise Celeste when she wakes up without wetting her bed. ;) I think Celeste likes that feeling too.

If there's one things that can make Celeste do something, it's the word "cane".

Interestingly, although we have never used the cane on Celeste, she is very cooperative when Grandma says, "I am going to take the cane now."

Of course, we dont' have a cane at home either. The cane that Grandma is referring to is the many hangers she hangs by the window to hang her clothes. So it is a good "Weapon" to get Celeste moving to do certain things like returning things when she shouldn't be touchng them, etc.

Celeste can be rather wilful at times now too. She deliberately runs away from you when you want her to stay put. Or she throws things in anger, of course to get a scolding from me.

This little tod is growing her personality and testing her boundaries.

Ahh

Celeste has been sleeping on the adult size pillow for some time this year. Today during nap time, she requested for Mummy's big bolster. Heh.

Celeste is full of expressions. See her face as she tries really hard to open the container in her hand.

And the delightful look as she savours some food.

Doing things by herself have become a norm for Celeste. She wants to do everything by herself.

Celeste: "Mummy go away! Celeste do self!"

Wash her hands "self" , wear her clothes "self" , wear shoes "self", eat "self" , drink "self". Everything "self".

Today, Grandpa and Grandma went to the market, leaving her behind. Celeste quickly took her shoes and wore it on. She wore it faster than I could take my camera! By the time I took out my camera, she had worn both sides of her shoes herself! That's incredible! She's only 2 Years and 2months plus but she's already doing things herself very well...

Celeste's colouring skills have improved. When she first started, she just coloured all across the page in zig zag lines. Now she colours with purpose. Barney's head? The sun? Or the smiley face? She's now doing focussed colouring and us quite accurate too. Today I drew a heart shape for her and she coloured it with magic pen. She is happy to colour it well!
