Went for Cyrus's review yesterday. It's good new for now! He passed his review tests. When Dr Lee asked him to give a "Hi 5" to her, he was hesitant but gave her a soft push on her palm. Then Dr Lee asked him where was his nose and ear, he pointed to them. But he refused to point to his eyes or anywhere else we asked him. Dr Lee also gave him a sweet and asked him to give it to me. He managed to pass the sweet to me reluctantly after dr lee repeated herself once again. Also managed to pass it to Daddy.

Finally cyrus had 2 jabs on his thigh and although he cried, he cried just for a little while.

Cyrus is 11.95kg and 81.5cm tall. Dr Lee says he is of a good weight and size.

Recently, Cyrus is sprouting new teeth. His molars are slowly erupting one by one.  Not sure if it's the reason for affecting his sleep. He has been crying at 4-5am and sometimes goes back to sleep only after a bottle of milk.

Cyrus can:

  • Say ball, baba, nai nai, ye ye, car, jiejie, mao mao (cat), keys, mum mum or um!
  •  yesterday he said mama for the first time and pointed at me (surprise!)
  • Today he strung 3 words together when grandpa asked if he wanted to go gai gai. He said yeye go car car! (Double surprise!)
  • Indicate yes or no by nodding or shaking his head
  • Throw things and look for it
  • Dance when he hears music he likes
  • Do some actions for twinkle twinkle little star and eensy weensy spider
  • Follow simple instructions but whether he does it successfully depends on his mood. He is easily distracted though!

Seriously, I have NO idea what this song is. Apparently, it's a song Celeste sings often on the way to school when Daddy fetches her in the van. She looks like she is really enjoying it! Maybe we should go KTV one day. :)

It's Celeste's last year at Little Learners. She's the oldest and therefore the biggest in the class. Nonetheless, she loves going to school because of the loving teachers. Despite the fact that the curriculum there isn't much, I'm just glad to send her there simply because she likes it there. Happy that she is finally graduating. I find that she is a bit overaged there. Haha.. :p A bit paiseh...

Anyway, this year, unlike last year, she is aware that she is going up on stage to perform again. She is able to tell us that what the class is singing and that she is the first one going up on stage etc. So not much of a surprise like last year but still, her performance was excellent. As I was busy video-ing her, I couldn't help feel a sense of pride when I saw how serious she was in performing. She really put in effort in practicing the Chinese song "Tian Liang Liang" everyday. When I taught her how to pronounce some words properly, she paid close attention and corrected her pronunciation mistakes. :D Am very happy that she takes pride in her performance too. :)

This year, Grandma told me to put on some makeup for Celeste so I applied some for Celeste. She was very very very happy and excited. She wanted to know exactly what I did and what were the things called. Blusher, eye shadow, lip gloss, lip stick. Final product - Pretty Celeste :)

Lastly, see her performance on FB! :)

Celeste showing off some moves in her dance as Daddy worked in the study room.

Note to self: Watch video of Celeste dancing. Super uncouth! lolz

Hehe.. Celeste's favourite cartoon now is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 乐乐屋 . She especially loves the dance by them and often dances together with them. So funny.. She looks like a heavy elephant dancing. heehee.

Doing things by herself have become a norm for Celeste. She wants to do everything by herself.

Celeste: "Mummy go away! Celeste do self!"

Wash her hands "self" , wear her clothes "self" , wear shoes "self", eat "self" , drink "self". Everything "self".

Today, Grandpa and Grandma went to the market, leaving her behind. Celeste quickly took her shoes and wore it on. She wore it faster than I could take my camera! By the time I took out my camera, she had worn both sides of her shoes herself! That's incredible! She's only 2 Years and 2months plus but she's already doing things herself very well...

Mummy's sick so Mummy's able to see Celeste to school. Before going to school, Celeste gets ready and wears her school bag and waits patiently for time to come.

Toys do not keep Celeste seated for long but things like this - blowing bubbles using the straw - makes her sit down for a decent time. :)

Apparently, Celeste also knows how to count in English, eleven, twelve and so on but she's needs some prompting. I guess she learned that from school!

Another song that Celeste learned from the Sing To Learn Chinese DVD that we got for her when she was young. She surprised me by singing it one fine day. Because her singing isn't so perfect, it took me a while to know what she was singing. Quite surprised because I haven't been going through this song with her at all.

This is one of Celeste's favourite songs. Time to time, she'll sing this when she is bored or wants to show off. That day, she decided that she wanted to wear on the bib for the entire day. Finally, the bib has some value, otherwise it'd been sitting in the cupboard for a long time already.

The first time Celeste got into this ring float and could swim around freely without us holding on to her. She loves the freedom of kicking around herself!
