Had a haircut today. An ugly haircut unfortunately! And a haircut that made both mummy and daddy squabble. Such a pretty daddy.

Cyrus eating his noodles from the bowl all by himself. I'll just check on him from time to time. Ocassionally I'll see him with his head in the bowl! Hahaha. So no manners. But as long as the food enters his mouth and he let's me eat in peace, I'll let him self feed whatever he wants!

Today is the day Cyrus can be discharged! Cyrus seems to know and is in a happy mood! He was also a good boy. Managed to take a long nap and did not need me to push him around in order to make him sleep.

He also had a big appetite. Had milk, then 2 bowls of porridge. Then lunch was all the lagsana that was served and milk. Then nap. Woke up drank more milk. And more at a later time.

last drip done and we were ready to go home! His iv drip needle was finally taken out but it seemed like after just 4 days of immobilising his left hand, he had forgotten how to use his left hand. Did everything with just his right hand. Quite funny to see that.

Cyrus was happy to see home and even happier when I lay him down in his bed. Gave me a cute little smile when he realised he was going to sleep in his own bed!  :)

Hope his bacteria will clear after 2 weeks of antibiotics and he gets well soon.

Love from Celeste.  Today cyrus is also back to his usual mischievous ways. Fooling around and running around.

It's boring in Mt A and all we can do is walk around level 2. Cyrus likes watching the cars go by as he sits in his stroller while doing his drip.
Today he seems much better and less tired so he managed to walk around and play.

more I pad or rather, continuous playing of i pad and pacifier the whole day as I try my best to keep him entertained in the tiny room.

We had to arrive at Mt. A at 5.45am so we woke up at 5 am and immediately rushed down to the hospital with Cyrus still in his pyjamas. Unfortunately, there were only lyrics 2 hospital staff there and it took 1 hour of waiting before it came to our turn. To our dismay as we registered, there were only double bedded rooms left so we had to share the room with someone else.

At the room, cyrus was changed into his hospital gown and he was still unaware of what was going to happen.

Had to keep him quiet as he was very bored in the room so out came the useful nanny.

Soon, it was time 7 45 am for him to go into the op theatre. The anaesthetist told me the procedure before hubby went to change his clothes to the surgeon's green gown. Then soon, hubby carried  Cyrus in and was given the gas. He said that Cyrus fell asleep rather quickly. From there on, we waited for about 1.5hrs before Cyrus was wheeled out in his bed. :( he was lying tummy down, head to the side and mouth wide open. Really looked like a pitiful sight. But he soon awoke even before he was wheeled to the ward. Cried and fussed a lot before he finally settled down. Nothing could appease him so I just carried him and let him cry.

big bandage on his hand as he need to use the iv drip later.

Many different ways of watching I pad as he seemed uncomfortable. Mucus/ blood kept flowing out from his nose. Drool flowed nonstop too.

poor boy could only use only one hand to hold his milk bottle as his left hand was totally bandaged.

Noon came and I wheeled him around in his stroller to nap. Luckily he managed to take about 1.5hrs of sleep. At night we were given a single ward and moved over to our room. Much better coz nobody to disturb us!

The worst scenario has occurred. Cyrus is to be admitted. A washout of his sinus and ears to be carried out. A tube to be inserted in his ear to keep it ventilated as there's fluid inside. And finally, adenoids to be removed if they are too big.

:(

Just hope that this is the end to his infection and fever. Just a couple of days of torture and he'll be better. Meanwhile, we have decided to pull him out from cc for good. I'm sure he'll miss little harvard and I'm sad that he will be spending time at home instead. But for his health, this is a wiser choice.

Anyway because we took Cyrus so lightly, as in he's #2 and a boy, we didn't buy much insurance for him. Turns out that his hospitalisation fees will only be half covered because we didn't get a better plan for him. Full of regrets now. Sigh. So lesson learned. Don't scrimp on insurance.

Luggage packed. Heavy heart. Bless little Cyrus. Surgery at 745am tmrw. Hope everything will be fine.

On a side note, poor Celeste just developed a fever too. Hope its just a few days of fever! I have no more ccl to spare! It has been a bad year. :(

Cyrus using self portrait mode. This is the only way to get him look at the camera and smile!

The kids enjoying their breakfast and watching TV at the same time! Cyrus dipping bread into his bowl of porridge. Celeste eating omelette with toast. All by themselves! Daddy and I? Happily chatting about our oncoming korea trip!

Here comes another twist to Cyrus' eat infection. Apparently, according to the lab report, there's heavy growth of bacteria (some pneumococal bacteria!). Ent specialist dr ko chan said it's a superbug and is resistant to the klacid Cyrus is currently taking. So he asked us to try augmentin again. Unfortunately after just 1 dose of augmentin, rashes started appearing on Cyrus's body and limbs! So hb gave a call to ko chan and he told us to stop the antibiotics and monitor. Dunno monitor what la. But the next day, we went to dr chan kit yee to seek her opinion. In the end, she recommended we give another antibiotic that is much much much stronger. And probably also not commonly used for children. That's because Cyrus is probably allergic to augmentin and its same class of antibiotics. Anyway, The antibiotic, ciprobay, is in tablet form and needs to be crushed and mixed with water. Tastes bitter like dunno what according to hb. Luckily I got a bottle of syrup from the pharmacist to mix the bitter solution otherwise I think Cyrus is definitely not going to eat it.
Hope it works for him and this will be the end of the ear infection due to sinus saga.

Cyrus loves bullying Celeste! Sat on her and rocked around for a long time. Celeste being a good natured girl, continued her drawing as he rode on her back.
