Here comes another twist to Cyrus' eat infection. Apparently, according to the lab report, there's heavy growth of bacteria (some pneumococal bacteria!). Ent specialist dr ko chan said it's a superbug and is resistant to the klacid Cyrus is currently taking. So he asked us to try augmentin again. Unfortunately after just 1 dose of augmentin, rashes started appearing on Cyrus's body and limbs! So hb gave a call to ko chan and he told us to stop the antibiotics and monitor. Dunno monitor what la. But the next day, we went to dr chan kit yee to seek her opinion. In the end, she recommended we give another antibiotic that is much much much stronger. And probably also not commonly used for children. That's because Cyrus is probably allergic to augmentin and its same class of antibiotics. Anyway, The antibiotic, ciprobay, is in tablet form and needs to be crushed and mixed with water. Tastes bitter like dunno what according to hb. Luckily I got a bottle of syrup from the pharmacist to mix the bitter solution otherwise I think Cyrus is definitely not going to eat it.
Hope it works for him and this will be the end of the ear infection due to sinus saga.

Cyrus loves bullying Celeste! Sat on her and rocked around for a long time. Celeste being a good natured girl, continued her drawing as he rode on her back.

Mount Elizabeth Novena organised a "Hospital Land" event for children aged 5 -10. I registered immediately as I've always missed their Doctor A Day event!

Celeste was very excited about it and woke up very early in anticipation.

However, while the different stations looked colourful and really fitting for children, Celeste thought that it would have been better if the hospital had shown real things instead of children's size. I agreed with her. It seemed more suitable for smaller kids, rather than my mature 6 year old. I think she would have preferred a guided tour in the hospital.

And in order not to get scolded, employ the ostrich mentality tactic.

Cyrus's fever is still persistently high but he still likes going downstairs for walks. And he particularly likes searching for cats.

So near... hide behind the cat for extra protection

"Miao...." says Cyrus. Squats to get a better view of the cast cleaning itself.

Very fascinated with the cat eating. No wonder he likes to play with the toy robot cat at home and even pretends to feed it with a dish of food!

More "Mao Mao mao" from Cyrus. He wants to spend more time looking at it.

"Eat!" Says Cyrus. He wants to eat the cat!

What a cute boy Cyrus is. :)

Ps: took a blood test earlier this morning because of his high fever. Luckily nothing was wrong so we'll just have to continue with the antibiotics. After crying his lungs out at the lab, he came home and slept like a log for about 4hrs!
His weight after 4 days of high fever: 12.2kg

Cyrus is a record breaker. Everytime he has fever, he breaks a record. Tonight his fever hit 40.9! He just sat in a corner of the cot in silence while his temperature rose steadily. Piggish me didn't know anything as I slept beside him on my bed. He Only cried when the fever reached above 40 I think. I hurriedly went to prepare milk amd bullet. When I measured it was already 40.9! Luckily grandma woke up to help me otherwise i really need to grow another pair of hands coz he was major crying as he vomited out his milk.

Now settled him in bed but temperature still high. Last measured was 39plus. Hope it will go down further.

Time passes so quickly. The September holidays are now over. Will be missing the carefree and stress free days! Almost everyday of the sep holidays were fun! Will start recapping with the latest.

Sunday: no Chinese speech and drama lessons in the morning so we went to ask hub for breakfast and to buy cyrus' s medicine. His runny nose is still persistent and yesterday night took a turn for the worse as it kept coughing. Luckily after feeding him some sinupret,  he coughed less and managed to go back to sleep.
Later in the noon, Celeste went for piano lessons and after that, We went to clement's new condo for the children to have a swim. Look how Cyrus is enjoying himself.

Cyrus using Celeste's swim board as a toy. Directing all the water from the fountain to elsewhere. He managed to play quietly by himself for a looong time!

of course the girls
only play with themselves and forget about Cyrus. Heh.

Almost impossible to get a nice pic of Cyrus as he is always refusing to look the camera!

Saturday : Swimming lessons. Celeste- has progressed quite quickly. - I think this is only her 3rd lesson? But she is already being chosen to go to the deep pool. Looks scary but I think she is very happy that she is being selected and seems to be trying her best to perform well. Proud of her!

Celeste love letter to me. It's in
Celeste's love letter to me. It's in Chinese! and with hanyu pinyin! Incredible right? Celeste learns things very quickly so it's easy for me to teach her myself. Hope she continues working hard.

Lastly,a tiny update on Cyrus . He now seems to be able to say more words and is trying to speak or imitate our words. However, his pronunciation is still very poorbut nonetheless,I'm still happy that he is trying to communicate with us. At least he is putting in effort. I can understand him. He can understand me.

Words he can say now:
bye-bye (Baba )
apple(ah perl)
Banana (nana )
sit
go there
bread(pan)
milk ( malk?)
water (malk?)-he uses the same words for milk and water so I have to keep asking him which one he wants.

Cannot remember what else he knows now. But it's a good range of words.
